Company filing

Companies House has said businesses affected by Covid-19 will be able to request an extension to file their accounts, reports and confirmation statements.

The maximum extension is 3 months, but Companies House said stringent conditions will apply. What you must do is to lodge your appeal before the company’s filing deadline.

If you do not apply for an extension and your accounts have been filed late, an automatically penalty will be issued. The registrar has very limited discretion not to collect a penalty.

Companies House also promised each appeal will be treated on a case-by-case basis.
