Five new arrests over Patisserie Valarie scandal

Five people have been arrested in connection with the Valarie Patisserie accounting scandal.

The Serious Fraud Office arrested and interviewed the five individuals last week as part of a joint operation with three police services.

It’s been eight months since Patisserie Valarie revealed that it had discovered “significant and potentially fraudulent, accounting irregularities”.

Finance director, Chris Marsh, was arrested and released on bail just days after the accounting crisis hit the headlines.

What is not clear is how many of the five worked in the accountancy department.
