Goldman Sach looks set to let AI take over its accounting roles.
The bank has spent last six months working with tech company Anthropic, building autonomous systems for time-intensive high-volume back-office work.
It says it is expecting to achieve productivity gains rather than job cuts in the short-term. But on top of speeding up processes it does acknowledge that it will limit future head count growth.
What has surprised executives is how well the AI is handling complex, rules-based work like accounting and compliance!
Goldman’s chief information officer Marco Argenti, said Anthropic’s Claude model will reduce the amount of time these essential functions take, and he expects the agents to be launched ‘soon’.
