The UK government has increased the planned threshold for taxing inherited farm land from £1m to £2.5m.
In her last Budget Rachel Reeves also introduced an exemption allowing farmers to pass on assets to their spouse tax-free, passing on up to £5m in qualifying assets, without incurring tax.
The latest move follows months of protests.
Environment Secretary Emma Reynolds said: “We have listened closely yo farmers across the country and we are making changes to protect more ordinary family farms.”
