LITRG website updated with latest tax info

The Low Incomes Tax Reform Group (LITRG) website has been fully updated for the 2025/26 tax year, providing taxpayers, journalists and you, with a valuable resource to help understand the intricacies of the UK tax system.

The website can be bookmarked by visiting www.litrg.org.uk.

Nearly five million people viewed the LITRG website in 2024, which continues to be cited by the House of Commons Library as a useful source for tax information.

You can use the website to find information on topics relating to:

  • Tax and National Insurance for individuals, employers and the self-employed workers.
  • Pensions and the tax system.
  • Information for taxpayers arriving in or leaving the UK.
  • Savings and property taxes, including capital gains tax.
  • How the tax and benefits system interact with one another.
  • Dealing with HMRC.

A range of topical guidance is also included across the site including detailed information for those working in the gig economy, new guidance to help people understand HMRC’s Making Tax Digital for Income Tax requirements from April 2026, and an updated version of our self-employment PDF tax guide to help people complete their 24/25 tax return.
