Mazars repays £1 million in furlough cash

Mazars, a top 10 accountancy firm, has confirmed it has repaid the £1.1 million it received from the government furlough scheme.

The cash was handed back on Monday 14 December. It was used to furlough 349 employees between April and May. Although staff were also furloughed between June and July the firm did not claim any money for that period.

In August the firm reported annual profits of £33 million and paid its UK partners an average of more than £250,000 each.
