Students sitting ACCA’s accountancy exams should not be failing the same paper three or four times, says tutor Sean Freeland in the latest PQ magazine.
A trainee may get 49% and fail, adjust their approach only to get 48% at the next sitting, and 46% at the one after that!
For Freeland the problem is students are being asked to diagnose their own experience without ever seeing how it was assessed in the first place.
Professional bodies need to start using the tech to provide real personalised feedback. Examiner Reports are fine, but they don’t tell you where you went wrong!
