The maximum size for any CV is two to four pages, and that’s even if you have many years’ experience, says Dr Hilary Coyle in the latest PQ magazine.
She says your CV must be precise, be selective, and be direct. Coyle says in your covering letter you need say why you want the job! Too few people do that, and it’s OK to say you like it because it is local.
Coyle also wants candidates to stop window-dressing their CVs – you will be found out at interview! And gaps are fine if they are fully explained.
