How many times do you need to pass the ACCA PM exam?

An error in the December 2024 Performance Management exam has meant some students who were told they had failed have now discovered they actually passed!

PQ magazine discovered the error when a student went on social media after an ACCA email explained a review had discovered that he had actually achieved a mark of 50% in the December PM exam. The problem is the student in question retook the paper and passed it the intervening time, in effect passing the paper twice!

Many PQs were shocked when they read his story, and the one-year delay before the calculation error was spotted.

Some trainees were also surprised that ACCA only offered a refund for the extra exam fees paid. But, as one student said: “ACCA would never be able to compensate for the mental pressure gone through by the student.”

Other students were impressed that ACCA took the full ownership for the error without trying to bury it: “Integrity at its best!, all the more reason to be proud ACCA.”

ACCA told PQ magazine: “Our rigorous checking procedures revealed an error in one of our questions on the December 2024 Performance Management exam. We’ve contacted affected students to correct their marks, provide exam fee refunds where relevant, and offered our sincere apologies. We’re very sorry for this and the frustration it has caused.”
