The ICAEW opened its doors at Moorgate Place yesterday to formally launch its much-heralded Next Generation ACA qualification.
More than 100,000 students, employers and stakeholders were consulted on the changes to future-proof the ACA, which are the biggest updates to the qualification in 30 years.
Will Holt, ICAEW’s Education and training MD, told a packed hall the Next Gen ACA will help students develop the professional ‘super powers’ they will need to succeed!
He was really excited about the three new case study exams, and felt the that the redesign allows for a smoother passage between levels for students.
The new Specialised Learning programme is now up and running, and the Excel ‘unleashed’ and project management programmes are already proving to be very popular.
Holt promised this was just the start, and there is a lot more to come.
During the roundtable discussion it was revealed that the innovative Specialist Learning programme was not part of the original proposals. ICAEW’s Andrea Cook explained that the institute was challenged on how it was going to introduce specialisation, flexibility, and personalised learning, and the Specialist Learning programme was the result!
