Accountancy firm JF Hornby & Co has launched a new initiative, the ‘Calculator Club’, to support pupils as they work towards their maths GCSE.
It has pledged to provide hundreds of scientific calculators to secondary schools across Cumbria to ensure no pupil goes without one, in the vital years leading up to the Year 11 exams.
JF Hornby’s MD, Paul Hornby (pictured), said: “It’s no secret that schools operate within the constraints of challenging budgets and sometimes do not have the finds to do everything they would like to do.”
For the last four years the firm has also been delivering financial education lessons in primary and secondary schools via the Hornby Money Club.
