Keep mobiles out of reach!

ACCA’s disciplinary committee has sanctioned more students for using mobile phones in exam halls.

Students should know that mobile phones are one of the items that are ‘not permitted on or about your desk or person’, but some can’t seem to help themselves!

During a remote FR exam in December 2025 Vaishnavi Pillay failed to adhere to ACCA’s Exam Guidance to ‘move mobile phones… out of arm’s reach’. She then attempted to give the exam proctor misleading information about the presence of the mobile. She was found guilty and removed from the student register. Pillay was ordered to pay cost of £50.

Another student Nur ‘Izzah Insyriash Zaidi was also caught with a phone in her PM March exam in 2025. The committee ruled she should be removed from the student register and pay costs to ACCA of £3,761.50.

During a centre-based PM exam in June 2025 Leer Hu used her mobile phone to take photos of the paper, and then shared them with a third party. She was removed from the student register and ordered to pay cost of £6,300.
