Meet the adorable new AI agent from Meta called Muse!
Launched on 8 September it is one of the most interesting developments in consumer AI, designed to undertake tasks for you, not just answer questions.
So, you can tell Muse to “find me a good flight, and put it in my calendar”, and it is done.
It can interact with websites and apps, send emails, manage tasks and make purchases.
Within the first few days Muse reached over 83,000 downloads and was briefly the number 2 app on the US App Store. In late September downloads were estimated to be 3.4m.
Meta is already expanding Muse towards small businesses, with integrations including Shopify, Slack, Dropbox, QuickBooks, Canva, Strip and Zoom.
But you are going to have to be trusting, This AI will have access to your emails, calendar shopping habits, travel plans, contacts, preferences, accounts and other financial information.
Meta says Muse’s data is isolated and that users control which services it can access. Currently conversations and VM data aren’t shared with Meta’s advertising systems though.
In one interesting development Amazon has blocked Muse, as it is worried about Agents interacting with accounts and credentials!
