The CIMA professional qualification is changing to the Chartered Global Management Accountant (CGMA) professional qualification.
CIMA will remain the awarding body, but it said it feels the change is needed to reflect the scope of its globally recognised qualification and unify all educational pathways. It will also ‘better align exam and designation terminology’.
CIMA explained that it ‘absolutely’ still exists and once the CGMA designation is achieved they will become CIMA members. And said: “This name change reflects the combined power and resources of the AICPA and CIMA. Both organisations will continue to serve their members and offer new opportunities through the Association of International Certified Professional Accountants.”
