While steady progress is being made on the proposed integration with ICAEW, regulatory approval is taking a bit longer than first anticipated, says CIPFA.
It means the extensive member engagement planned, with multiple opportunities for questions and feedback ahead of a membership vote will not take place until after the regulatory phase.
It means the vote is now not expected until the Autumn – so no earlier than September.
Not everyone, it appears is happy with this explanation. One member said: “
I don’t feel better informed after reading this. What is, and is not, going on? CIPFA must publish everything, including the alternatives to merger and why these were rejected.”
